Now let’s ‘Get Into Golf’
Else's club finder and lesson booking engine for England Golf goes live!
This week saw the relaunch of Get into Golf, a campaign for England Golf, the national governing body for the amateur game.
The bold, modern campaign aims to introduce golf to a wider audience and is also the first milestone in a wider initiative to reposition and re-present England Golf’s objective to grow the game of golf.
“Get into Golf is a national, multi-channel campaign challenging the traditional stereotypes of the game and instead promoting the sport as accessible to all. Our role is to refresh the image of England Golf both to players, clubs and counties, to better reflect the great work that the organisation does,” says Andry Ratovondrahona — Principal Interaction Designer at Else”
Photography and campaign branding were developed by Manchester agency, Ear to the Ground, and incorporated into the new site by Else, with the aim of epitomising the idea of a game that’s accessible to all.
At the heart of the campaign, the Get into Golf website aims to connect budding new golfers with a suitable nearby club as efficiently as possible, through its Club Finder functionality. The aim of the game here is to throw open the doors to as many people as possible — from kids to families to friends to the retired.
Once a suitable lesson type has been found, sessions with the club coaches can easily be booked and paid for directly via the site. So then all they need to do is turn up on the day and play!
Clubs can also take advantage of an innovative Brand Centre, which offers them access to a wide range of editable marketing materials to support their sessions and attract new golfers.
Tanya Allen, Marketing and Communications Director at England Golf noted, “This year’s Get into Golf campaign adopts an exciting new approach, with a fresh, modern look and feel to the creative and a strategy based around the use of social influencers and a site that allows users to find, book and pay for lessons within a few clicks.”
With hundreds of clubs already signed up to offer a range of lessons suited to everyone and with Get into Golf already funnelling thousands of new people into the game each year, it’s now the hope that the platform can grow on the success of previous years.
And in doing so, truly achieve the goal of growing the game.
