ELSE supports UKRI’s Healthy Ageing Challenge Community of Practice
The healthy ageing sector is one that’s seen exponential growth in recent years. UKRI(UK Research and Innovation) and Innovate UK have build a vibrant community of practice around this area. UKRI is the national funding agency investing in science and research in the UK, working across the UK to bring together 7 Research Councils. Healthy Ageing falls under one such council.
With innovation at the heart of all ELSE does, we’ve regularly tuned into events run by the UKRI. This month we had the pleasure of supporting one, with partner and chief design officer, Dave Dunlop, joining as an innovation expert to lead a group of entrepreneurs and founders.
Members from 24 organisations joined the session, with a shared goal of discussing the shared challenge of healthy ageing. Through expert-led breakouts the aim was for members to leave better equiped with the skills and knowledge to innovate faster and more effectively, and to create products and services fit for market in the healthy ageing sector.
ELSE’s session focused on sharing methodology and practical frameworks for the group to takeaway. Discussions focused on how to link an organisation’s mission to a customer experience, and how to create ‘ownable moments’ through the product or service experience. A model ELSE frequently calls on known as MINDSPACE was shared, along with ELSE’s own Experience Blueprint.
